Feeling a little job insecurity recently? Are you afraid that your job is becoming a thing of the past? Here are the top five jobs that could be on their way to extinction:
5. TV repairman- basically, with technology improving all the time, it'll end up costing you less to buy another, newer model instead of repairing what you've got.
4. Book binders and film processors- as computerized book downloads and digital cameras increase, the people who work with old fashioned chemicals and paper are being phased out.
3. Customer service representatives- automated voices are out pacing human voices.
2. Bike messengers and courier services- with faxes, email attachments and document scanning (which is as easy as making a copy), there are fewer deliveries by bicycles, and many more by "mouse click"!
1. Cashiers- and who is taking the place of these people? With all the self-scanning checkout counters cropping up in stores, that easy to answer: it's you!
