ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – A change of plea hearing has been scheduled for the fourth suspect in the 2016 death of a Palmer teenager. KTUU-television reports 22-year-old Austin Barrett is scheduled for a change of plea hearing Wednesday in the death of 16-year-old David Grunwald. Juries have convicted Erick Almandinger, Dominic Johnson and Bradley Renfro of first-degree murder in Grunwald’s death. Prosecutors say Grunwald was beaten with a pistol and shot. A trial judge in January dismissed an indictment against Barrett. The judge said Barrett had invoked his constitutional right against self-incrimination and statements he made to investigators could not be used.
