The TODAY Show learned that Taylor Swift’s way with words may be a family trait — according to their source, Ancestry, she and the famous poet Emily Dickinson are sixth cousins, three times removed.

Taylor Swift’s ancestors remained in Connecticut for six generations until her part of the family eventually settled in northwestern Pennsylvania, where they married into the Swift family line.

Speaking of poets, Taylor’s upcoming album The Tortured Poets Department comes out on April 19, 2024 with features from Post Malone and Florence & the Machine.
